Thanks to Colin, You and the BBC

The BBC Introducing show was soooo good! Massive thanks to Colin the engineer for doing an AMAZING job. Could have kissed the guy when we walked in to soundcheck after what we endured last weekend!

Great crowd as well – thanks to everyone who made it down. Was a complete pleasure! Also to the BBC – really cool people – great to meet you all!

Think our interview and some live tracks will be on the show from next weekend onwards – they played Undoneath last night – thanks for that! But if you want us to hear us speaking incoherently about nothing in particular then tune in!

SOLD OUT Islington Mill

Well Saturday was a great night despite having a shocking sound engineer...the dude just didnt seem to care, which is ironic since he was engineering at a night put on by huge music fans who couldnt do enough to make it a great night! Oh well...So we had a few erm - issues shall we say, but even so people seemed to enjoy what we did so all good!

For This City Is Ours and Mind on Fire though it was a massive success - all acts were amazing - but it was first time for me seeing Mount Kimbie and Dennis Jones - both were fucking real good!!! I urge you to go and check them out if you havent already.

Check out the groovement show with us, mount kimbie and the mind on fire guys here:

In the meantime check the blurbs and links below to whet your appetite. Hold tight!

MOUNT KIMBIE (live)
http://www.myspace.com/mountkimbie
Hotflush Recordings presents a brand new production duo that eludes classification: Mount Kimbie. Based in London, they have developed a truly unique sound whose experimental rhythms lend themselves to the fringes of dubstep, wonky and hip hop, but ooze with emotion and echoing ambient soundscapes that take the listener to an entirely different place. This first release features four tracks which capture their evolving sound. The minds behind Mount Kimbie, Dominic Maker and Kai Campos, both 22, met at university and began making music together in a home studio in Peckham. Hints of their influences from hip hop, jazz, dubstep and experimental electronica can be heard in their productions. The EP has already been well received, with support DJs including Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC Radio 1 Experimental show (on which they also recently performed a guest mix), Scuba on his podcast for XLR8R, Rob Booth’s Electronic Explorations show, Ramadanman’s recent podcast mix for Dub War NYC, and Alex Incyde on Sub FM.

DENIS JONES (live)
http://www.myspace.com/denisjones
Denis Jones is a self-taught guitarist and songwriter from Lancashire, UK. Having begun his musical life as a singer songwriter in the classic UK mould of the likes of John Martyn, he has over the last three years developed a show-stopping live performance based around the core of his exceptional and unique guitar-playing style and rich, soulful voice. Utilising a loop station and all manner of samplers and effects, Denis creates vast, complex orchestrations of beat-box rhythms, multi-layered vocals and other-wordly sounds which veer from subtle heart-wrenching folk and blues to heavy bass-driven electronica.
